Mercury goes Retrograde AND Everything Gets Even Crazier!

Once again it became necessary for me to skip two weeks of article writing because life became too insane to deal with! But I am dealing! I always welcome a good challenge. It keeps me on my toes...except when it becomes so exhausting that I can't get out of bed!

The craziness actually began in early February when I initiated an all out attack on my apartment complex by contacting the LA Department of Health and the LA Housing Department and opening up cases on them. Then on March 1st, 2 days before taking my step daughter to Disneyland for her 8th birthday, my building manager contacts me to tell me that they have to start repairing my apartment in 3 days and expect me to clear out half my kitchen and move into a hotel room in 2 days! So I was supposed to go to Disneyland and move myself, 3 cats, an 8 year old and her dad into a hotel room on the same day! Can we say nervous breakdown?

So I hurried up and removed what I needed to from the kitchen, packed my Disney bags and handed all the hotel information to my friend. He checked into the hotel but came right back to the apartment so he could be there when the workers arrived the next morning to start the repairs. Boy were they concerned when they realized that we didn't actually move out of the apartment! And approx. 3 days later when my step daughter and I returned from Disneyland we came face to face with a plastic wrapped kitchen with asbestos warning signs posted on the plastic, no fridge and an ugly unplugged deteriorating stove/ oven sitting in the dining room. Even worse, the plastic wrap job wasn't keeping my 3 cats from going into the toxic kitchen! I had to add extra plastic and furniture to keep them out! Days later the management added even more plastic to keep the cats out... But first we had to endure some drama!

As if all that wasn't enough, the corporate office was trying to get us to agree to changing the locks on our door and locking us out of our own apartment! My friend/ roommate stepped in to save the day. He scared them with legal talk so they realized they couldn't do what they wanted to do. However, because the plastic containment had somehow fallen down in the kitchen, the work and hotel had to be extended for another week! FYI... The hotel only had one bed for 3 people to sleep on and no oven.. just a microwave and a stove. It didn't matter anyway because I wouldn't abandon my apartment. Meanwhile I was completely exhausted from all the stress and anxiety and could barely get out of bed daily. Then they put this extremely loud air machine in the kitchen so the whole apartment sounded like we were living next to Niagara Falls! Then the work slowed down and we found out that one main worker got sick and the manager went on vacation. LOL

FYI I had to celebrate my Birthday amidst all of this! Happy Birthday to me March 17th! It was not very happy really!

We are now being told that they will need another week to complete the work! This will make it almost 4 weeks now! The good news is that we purchased a small refrigerator and stove so things aren't that bad... and now, the other day we finally got access to the fridge in the kitchen again! But the kitchen is still in terrible condition...and these idiot workers took down the extra plastic to keep the cats out, so I had to create a whole new plastic barrier with ugly garbage bags!

Now, as if all that's not enough, my car started needing jump starts again...daily! So I was preparing to sue Honda but found out that the lemon law won't work in my case because the repairs took place after the warranty period had ended! Check out what I've been dealing with for almost 4 years... On January 31st, 2017, I purchased a new 2017 Honda CRV from Diamond Honda of G*******. The car received regular oil changes and maintenance services at the Diamond Honda of G******* Service Dept. All recommended services and repairs were always completed in a timely manner to ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle. The car was doing great until August of 2020 when the car's batteries started to have problems maintaining a charge and needed jump starts regularly until finally the battery needed to be replaced completely.

This continued for approximately the next 3 years and 5 months. During this time Honda ran various tests, repairs and battery replacements at the owners expense yet they could never discover the problem. Please note that all purchased batteries had a warranty and would be replaced one time for free. The customer even went to other car shops attempting to discover the real problem only to be disappointed over and over again. No one could decipher what was wrong with the car. After using up most of her roadside assistance for jump starts the customer finally invested in the necessary jump start kit. The final straw that broke the camel's back was waiting approx. 1 year and 9 months for a part that was on national back order only to discover that the repair which cost $409.58  didn't work. Less than one month later she had to purchase another new battery for $238.37. Then approx. 2 months later this new battery started to need a daily jump start! Once again, a battery replacement would be necessary! So at this exact moment the car is at Honda being fixed again! Crazy!

Now can you really blame me for skipping two articles? Enjoy your Mercury Retrograde Sun in Aries Season! Oy!
