"The Scorpio in Me"

My trauma started as a baby when my mom kicked out my dad

Devastated by my home life, I was told that I was bad

I used to kick and punch her when she lied down in my bed

Guess I wasn't happy with the life that I had

I was only four years old when my cat passed away She was euthanized cause of my asthma attack that day

My mother tried to lie to me, but her lies were in vain

Goofy went to cat heaven she finally exclaimed

I cried out of anger, I cried out of pain My cat Goofy was dead now and I was to blame

My first therapy session was an eye opening affair

I sat in the waiting room while my mom was in there

With five minutes to go I finally entered to say "Hello"

I was told to be a good girl, listen to mom, you know?

No one asked me how I felt or if anything was wrong

It wasn't my therapy session so why did I even come along?

My mother handed her a check and that's when I knew

The therapist only cared about the payment that was due

That was a very important lesson for me you see

I learned that you can't trust people when they're just out for your money

One fateful day child protective services arrived

My mom told me they'd take me away if I didn't lie

So I didn't mention the physical, emotional or mental abuse

Thought I'd end up in a foster home if I told the truth

So instead I just ended up staying abused

In nursery school they made me sleep alone across the room

Having been disruptive I was isolated from the group

In kindergarten I was hospitalized for a bad case of the chicken pox

In the hospital for a week- my immune system was shot

In second grade I lost my first ever best friend

Our mothers had a falling out so our friendship had to end

I developed terrible headaches, back pain and inflammation

I struggled with exhaustion, I really needed a vacation

In junior high school I was bullied, they threw gum into my hair

and I lost a second best friend, she walked away cause she was scared

In high school my first real boyfriend decided to break up with me

and in college I was purposely given an STD

I was labeled a whore but I was just misunderstood

I developed stomach problems, my health was no good

I went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with gastritis

I suffered from depression with no energy to fight it

I had to change my diet, quit smoking cigarettes

I had to change my lifestyle, eliminate the stress

I had an epiphany that I was supposed to do entertainment

Tell my story, make a difference, be a role model and be famous

So I moved to California with my manager and best friend

But she turned out to be a backstabber and so our friendship had to end

I became a better person though and started practicing meditation

I visited several doctors, found out I have the MTHFR gene mutation

So I researched natural cures, became a healer, found my salvation

Learned that true emancipation lies in spiritual transformation
