Eliminate Toxins from Your Body with Colon Hydrotherapy!

After performing an intense parasite cleanse with turpentine, followed by a pureed liquid diet for 52 days, I felt it was just about time to schedule another colon hydrotherapy session. It had been just about 2 years since my last one, so I was quite overdue! Colon hydrotherapy is a simple, effective and powerful method of elimination which may help jump start your body’s detoxification process. Colon Hydrotherapy (also know as colonics or colon irrigation) is the introduction of warm, filtered and temperature regulated water into the colon. This is done through the use of a rectal tube that is inserted into the rectum. The waste is softened and loosened resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. This is repeated several times throughout the session and a typical session lasts approximately 45 minutes.

There are many health benefits to colon hydrotherapy. Ofcourse, if you google colon hydrotherapy, you will also find many articles against it claiming it's unnecessary and perhaps even dangerous. That's usually the case with anything considered a natural cure these days. But for me, it has been beneficial (I think). Here's a few of the benefits (taken directly from the Complete Trinity website where I go to get my colon hydrotherapy done):

  • It has an antiseptic and solvent action on the intestines; impacted fecal matter and other toxins are removed from the colon.

  • Increases the water level and diuretic action of the body. Water is absorbed into the body, which increases the volume of the blood, increasing circulation, resulting in greater bathing of the individual cells, thus diluting toxins and flushing them out and increasing elimination both through the kidneys and skin as well as the bowel.

  • The liver is the main detoxification organ of the body. Many colon X‐rays show that pressure of constipation is exerted in the liver area, resulting in irritation to both liver and gall bladder as well as to the common bile duct. This delays and obstructs the normal draining of these organs‐ a condition which is often alleviated through colon hydrotherapy.

  • Reshapes – over time, the natural shape of the colon may become distorted, which may cause more colon problems. After a series of colonics, the colon will begin to regain its shape.

  • Cleanses and balances the colon – impaction is removed and stagnation is reduced.

  • Aids in removing parasites, internal gas and cellular debris.

  • Improves muscle tone. The gentle infusion of water, combined with the emptying of the colon, causes peristaltic activity, the natural movement of the bowels.

  • Improves the lymphatic system since the human body does not have a pump for that system.

So the last time I went in for a colon hydrotherapy session I released a bunch of fecal matter (pardon the explicit language here). However, after an intense parasite cleanse with turpentine, a 52 day pureed liquid diet, tons of near infrared sauna sessions and a million detox supplements I really wasn't sure what to expect this time. The results were actually quite surprising! My body immediately started releasing bile. Bile, bile and more bile! “Is this good?”, I asked my trained therapist Diana. She told me that the release of bile usually doesn't happen until the end of the session, however in my case it made sense from all the detoxing I had been doing. But the answer is Yes, releasing bile is very good! I was fascinated to find out more, considering that I didn't release any fecal matter at all during this session- only bile and a little bit of candida... and perhaps tiny tiny flakes of fecal matter. That was it!

It turns out that colon hydrotherapy can help with toxic elimination in two distinct ways. The first is obvious: It manually cleans out the bowels, which may be necessary from time to time for people who suffer from chronic constipation. The second way is that colon hydrotherapy can help with detoxification through bile dumping. Bile is produced by the liver, stored by the gall bladder, and secreted in response to the ingestion of fatty foods. Because fat does not readily mix with the water contents of the gut, it requires emulsification with bile salts in order to absorb the calories and nutrients. However, bile also absorbs fat-soluble toxins for the same reason it absorbs fatty foods. When this happens, it is important to be able to eliminate these toxins.

Even in healthy individuals, a high percentage of the body’s bile is reabsorbed in the small intestine, which means all of the remaining fat-soluble toxins get recirculated into the bloodstream. In constipated individuals, the percentage of reabsorbed bile approaches 90-95%. Although colon hydrotherapy only reaches the colon and not the small intestine, this procedure has been shown to increase the dumping of bile, thereby decreasing the recirculation of fat-soluble toxins. This is a very effective last step in a total body detoxification protocol for individuals with high levels of toxins in their body. Colon hydrotherapy thus increases the elimination of these toxins through the colon and out of the body. Fascinating!

The result? After my session I felt quite euphoric! A little spaced out, slightly drained (because I was still on my liquid diet too), but very relaxed and euphoric! My therapist recommended that I stop taking all of my supplements and re-introduce them back into my system very slowly! She even told me to stop taking my natural sleep pills- Scary! Although I was quite concerned, I decided to take her advice and I actually slept pretty well that night with no sleep supplement whatsoever. It just took me a little while to calm down and get to sleep. But I woke up early feeling well rested.

The next day I slowly started eating solid foods again. I slept even better that night and the next night- still no sleep supplements whatsoever! No supplements at all actually except Lugol's iodine! Day 3 after the colonic I was just starting to get my energy back. I actually went rollerblading! Then back to swimming the next day. My good friend told me that I appeared to be calmer than usual. And it's true! For days after the colonic I felt extremely calm and euphoric as if I had been taking my l-theanine pills, which I actually stopped taking. I was just naturally calm and happy. Pretty amazing if you ask me! Only time will tell, but I think I need to start doing this more often... however, at $95 a session- not too often! Lol But seriously, if you're looking for the ultimate detox then I suggest scheduling yourself a colon hydrotherapy session!
